Hi Meg,
I recently bought Milagrosa, which by the way is a really great follow-up to Ladron. The atmosphere I would say is more positive and it's more accessible than Ladron, but at the same time equally experimental and honest. I like it a lot!
I got a question concerning the photos in the booklet of the album. They're really cool, very natural and not post-produced with filters or something like that. The graveyard underlines the Forever in Bone-theme really good in my opinion... In the liner notes i read that you shot them. It would be cool to know in which city you took them, and why you chose them for the artwork.
Looking forward to your new album! |

thank you for taking the time with the CD booklet and liner notes. Those photos were taken in Cuba, mostly in Havana. That city is a photographer's dream, any photo taken captures beauty and decay.
I agree the album is definitely more uplifting and positive than anything we've written, but it still has the underlying sadness of death and loss. I was happy to capture those images and dedicate it to my abuelita who died in Havana at 96.
I think this next album is going in another direction. a bit more agressive, outward, less introspective. we can't help but mirror what's going on in our lives or what surrounds us. we're about 7 songs in and will probobly finish writing after the Melvins tour. would be nice to get it out this year..
we'll see. |
